Screenings and grit seperators

The first step in wastewater treatment is usually the mechanical separation of coarse waste (screenings) and grit. An excellent technical solution for this separation process is the installation of the Screenings & Grit Separator type SSP. The separator can be installed inside or outside a building, as it can be equipped with thermal insulation and heating if required.

Raw wastewater is firstly pumped onto a screen where screenings are separated. The screenings are conveyed via an inclined pipe to the press zone where they are pressed and compacted. The screen is cleaned by a brush attached to the first section of the screw conveyor. Screened wastewater together with wash water drops to the tank below where grit settles out and is transported away by an inclined screw conveyor. The device is fully automatic with optional manual operation. All treatment processes in the Screenings & Grit Trap type SSP are hermetically sealed and all structural elements are made of stainless steel AISI 304.
